Furniture Designer  & Maker /  Fine Artist

Much of my childhood was spent in my father's workshop learning to work with wood and metal to create objects, and I feel this has had a fundamental influence upon my work, both as furniture designer/maker and more recently, as fine artist.

My practice is diverse, exploring the relationship between concept, aesthetics and functionality, through the mediums of sculpture, furniture, installation, video and printmaking.

Taking my inspiration from the materials I use and their response to the forces and processes I subject them to, my work varies between large-scale industrially-themed installations where the outcome is largely determined by material properties and the laws of nature, to smaller, more 'designed' objects, where functionality has played more of a role in the creative process.
